Charissa was born at Seattle Washington, United States on May 4, 1982. ESPN analyst appointed in 2012 to host SportsNation. She cohosted ABC's Splash alongside Joey Lawrence. Thompson, who was raised and born in Seattle Washington, hosted Splash on ABC. As the youngest of three kids, she was aware of her desire to become a broadcaster at the age of three. She studied at Inglemoor High School near Kenmore in Washington. Thompson moved out to California to attend a California community college. She later transferred to the University of California, Santa Barbara which she attended and graduated with an B.A. In 2004, she earned the B.A. from Law and Society. In 2004, Sports Illustrated wrote she left Washington State (WSU) to go to a community college in California after which she transferred into UC Santa Barbara Thompson has clarified she did not attend WSU. Thompson who was a former sports broadcaster for Sports Illustrated, received an email from a friend inviting her to get her body painted as well as appear in a Swimsuit edition. The lead vocalist for the New York based pop rock group Against the Current who released the EP entitled Infinity in 2014.
