April Ross
April Ross was one of the few female beach volleyball athletes who earned medals in multiple Olympics. Alix Klineman, taking part for the very first time at Tokyo's Olympic Games is hoping to secure her third Olympic medal. Ross hopes to win an Olympic debut gold but she is also aiming to win greater. Perhaps this is her only chance at winning, as she's 39 old. She is still confident, however. Ross was reported on NBC Boston as saying that when you perform at your very best, even if you perform well, you will win the gold. So I'm going to take the chance too. Ross is born in the year 1982. Costa Mesa California where she lived with her parents as well as a sister. While at Newport Harbor High School, she competed in numerous activities. She played basketball and ran track, in addition to her indoor volleyball achievements in her time as a college athlete. However she was clearly an edge over the other players in this latter game. According to her bio, she played an outside blocker as well as a middle hitting volleyball player during her high-school career. As a tribute to her efforts she was awarded the Gatorade Award for National Player 1999. Also, she won the award in 2000. Orange County Athlete of the Award for volleyball. Even though Ross and Klineman have been doing their thing from 2017 onward, the former was already an established player on the beach scene even before the pair formed. In fact, she's had the chance to win numerous tournaments, including one with a legendary volleyball player. Jennifer Kessy coached her from 2007 until 2013. Together, Kessy Ross was a force in the world circuit, winning the world championship in 2009. They won a Silver Medal at the 2012 Olympic Games held in London. Misty May Treanor and Kerri Jennings the legendary team who was the winners of the 2012 Olympics in London, edged each other to take home the gold medal. Ross Jennings took over for May-Treanor when she retired. The duo won bronze in beach volleyball at the Rio Olympics in 2016. Ross played for the Trojans of USC in her college prior to becoming a professional. Ross had an impressive run during her time in the NCAA tournament. In 2000, as a freshman she earned Pac-10 and NCAA Freshman of the Year accolades. She also was also an All-American. The team also saw her help in helping the Trojans reach the Final Four. She was devastated by a tragic incident in her sophomore years, yet she managed to become an All-American again. In her last two seasons as a member of the Trojans in the program the team was led to victory by winning the national title in consecutive years. She was a great volleyball player, winning the Honda Sports Award in 2003-04 as the most outstanding female volleyball player in the NCAA. Ross, a USC international relations student was a volleyball star. Margie Ross didn't get to witness Ross reach beach volleyball's highest levels. Ross lost the breast cancer that she battled in 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. But she still keeps her mother in her his heart. Also, Margie continues to be an inspiration to her on the beaches and throughout life.
